YOUR STORIES: MARÍA
This is not the first time that María’s and our paths have crossed. In 2020, when everyone was dreaming about what they would do once lockdown ended, Naguisa and MON (María’s brand at the time) collaborated on a giveaway of a small case with our shoes.
Since then, we’ve been keeping track of one another on social media, sending the occasional message and emoji hearts. Today we want to share her story and how our sandals and espadrilles were present during life’s most special moments.

How did you discover Naguisa and what was your first impression of the brand?
I first heard about Naguisa in 2017 and was just smitten with the brand. That was the very first year I bought a pair of sandals and, since then, I’ve continued to buy with every collection. I only missed one year when I had surgery on both feet and couldn’t wear normal shoes for a long time. My first pair was pink espadrilles with a pompom. I can still remember them now, they were so lovely! I wore them to the point of no return by that same January. I was so sad when I had to toss them.
Do you identify with the Naguisa values?
Yes, very much so! Naguisa is not only a ‘Made in Spain’ brand, but also a symbol of quality and timelessness. While the brand does follow some trends like colorways and hues, it has never lost its original values and brand philosophy. In fact, I would go so far as to say that the quality is better now than it was before. The brand has grown so much and continues to remain committed to quality. I’m the type of person that prefers quality over quantity. I enjoy buying clothing that stands the test of time, and the same goes for footwear. Naguisa has become a mainstay and a classic in my wardrobe. They are so comfortable, something my operated-on feet definitely appreciate!

What inspires you to continue buying Naguisa shoes after so much time?
Quality, comfort, and they never wear out. I’ve had one pair of shoes for almost 7 years and they are still going strong. They’re a little worn out, and used, but they haven’t broken, no broken seams, nothing.
What is the first thing that comes to mind when you think about the Naguisa winter collection?
My first pair was very symbolic for me, and many of my friends also have them, they are just so elegant and beautiful. Wearing a pair of Naguisas is synonymous with elegance. That specific style was GER.
Do you have any special memories from when you were wearing your Naguisas?
Yes, absolutely, but one in particular stands out. I had a very important and elegant event and I remember very few people looking me in the eyes because they were all admiring the sandals I was wearing! They were the SABINA style.

What is your favorite style?
My favorites are: Paix, in ecru, Marga multi gray and the Thalis espadrille in black.
How do you prefer to wear your Naguisas?
I love wearing my winter pairs with jeans and Bonne Maison socks, the combination has become a classic for my style. I also love wearing the LLAR design at home. They are so comfy and pretty! Sometimes I’m tempted to wear them out and about as well... (laughs)
I wear my sandals with dresses, skirts, summery pants, anything really. I don’t buy sandals from any brand other than Naguisa, in all honesty Naguisa has completely taken over my wardrobe.
Have you shared your love for Naguisa shoes with your friends and family?
Yes, with everybody! Even my doctor and ex-ballet teacher, both were looking for an elegant and beautiful but also comfortable brand. I recommend them to anyone I can. Now, after the operations, my feet aren’t exactly attractive per se, so my Naguisas both cover up my scars and ensure my feet are comfy and pain-free.
