A TIMELINE OF OUR RIBBONED SOC STYLE

2013 SOC MODEL RUNNER

The classics always last. Some symbols of traditional culture have managed to become part of the fashion scene. Our SOC ribboned espadrilles, loved for their comfort, versatility, and nostalgic appeal, are indisputably one of our best sellers.

More than 9 years ago, Pablo and Claudia set out to reinvent the quintessential ribboned espadrille with a fresh, modern design. They imagined an espadrille perfectly adapted to the urban environment, and through a careful design process they created just that: a modern jute espadrille, made for daily wear.

And that’s how SOC became an instant success. The combination of pastel-toned Japanese ribbons and a natural cowhide quarter won over internationally renowned brands like Anthropologie and Toast, and women around the world fell in love with this comfortable, original summer style.

Over the past decade, Naguisa has reinterpreted the SOC ribboned espadrille in different ways through collaborations. Join us as we take a look at the history of our most sought-after original espadrille.
