A PIECE OF OUR STORY

Welcome to our studio. Here, nothing is what it seems, starting with me! Even though you might always see me here, opening the door, receiving packages and wishing you a good afternoon as you walk out happily with your little box in your hands, I am in fact a great voyager.

I met Pablo and Claudia in 2012 in an espadrille factory. The owners, a lovely couple, introduced us and from then on we became inseparable. When they explained the idea for Naguisa to me, I got in the car with them and we came to Barcelona full of ideas (and jute). After that, I began my intrepid journeys across Europe, hopping from trade fair to trade fair and showing the essence of Naguisa to people from the 7 continents.

Now that the years are changing my colours, I’ve decided to settle down here and lend them a hand in the day-to-day running of the business. Helping Sara with the visits and online orders, Greta with the support she provides to our partners, Pablo with the suppliers, Lourdes with the paperwork, Alba with finding new points of sale and Claudia and Sofía with their search for inspiration for the new collections. Sometimes Yolanda comes to the studio and takes pictures of me and I tell her stories about my travels. Let’s see if I can inspire her to put me in the newsletter! ;)

This year, Claudia thought that there was no better way to celebrate this lovely team than by doing something as a gift to you; something we could all take part in, even me. So I put my braids at their disposal and together we’ve given form to a little piece of our history.

Something made by us, something we’ve poured all our enthusiasm and affection into, and which we want to share with all of you who have supported us along this path. Because Naguisa is this studio but it is also all of you women who have spent the last eight years wearing your sandals and jute espadrilles, all the small businesses who have supported us since the beginning and each and every one of you behind the production process who bring our designs to life. A big thank you to all of you!
