Every autumn, at Naguisa we embark on an adventure that goes beyond shoe design. Claudia and Pablo, convene the team to immerse themselves in 'A Piece of Naguisa', an event that has already become an unavoidable tradition in our calendar. This year, for one morning, we decided to swap computers and prototypes of the next collection for wax and highlights.

With the help of Margarita, an artisan with an innate talent, our studio was transformed into a space for experimentation. The challenge: to create handcrafted candles.

HEATING THE BEESWAX

Instead of opting for the conventional, we chose pure beeswax, a material that evokes our dedication to the natural and authentic. And for the wick, a touch of our essence: jute thread, the same we use to sew our espadrilles. Thus, each candle became a small tribute to our craftsmanship.

The aroma of beeswax flooded the studio, carrying with it an air of tranquility and concentration. As we molded the candles, conversations flowed, laced with laughter and anecdotes. It was fascinating to see how our hands, accustomed to spending the day typing, deftly adapted to these new tasks.

With her skill and patience, Margarita guided us through each step, showing us how to shape our creativity in a whole new way. Around the table, we found ourselves sharing more than just an activity: we were sharing our passion for handmade.
