How would you describe the design philosophy behind Your Living Space and how is it reflected in your projects?
Our design philosophy at Your Living Space is rooted in creating spaces that improve quality of life for our customers. We use high-quality materials and innovative solutions to make sure our designs are both long-lasting and environmentally responsible. Regardless of the project at hand, our intention is for our designs to always convey a feeling of warmth and to tell a part of the history of the space.
MARTA AND CARLOTA TELL US ABOUT THE ADVANTAGES OF WORKING WITH FRIENDS
Working together can be a unique experience. How do you balance the friendship-work dynamic in your professional relationship? Any tips?
We met working in a designer furniture store in Barcelona, which is where we discovered we have similar tastes. That in itself is already a big advantage. Managing a business is a significant challenge, and having someone by your side who shares your vision is important. That doesn’t mean things will always be easy, but it offers some security.

Are there any specific advantages to being mothers when managing an interior design business, such as, for example, enhanced sensitivity to the needs of families when working on projects?
Being mothers has given us a unique perspective and greater sensitivity to the needs of families. We understand firsthand the importance of creating spaces that are safe, functional, and inviting for all members of the family.
Your Living Space is located in the Gràcia neighborhood of Barcelona. How does that environment influence your day-to-day routine and your creative inspiration?
We’ve been here for just over five years, and little by little we’ve connected with the other businesses in the area. Gràcia is full of young, talented, and creative people, and is a hub for lots of interesting ideas.
How do you choose brands and items for your showroom? How would you describe the experience you hope to offer your customers?
We like working with brands that share our vision and commitment to excellence. We want to offer our customers an inspiring and personalized experience, allowing them to discover unique pieces and creative solutions for their spaces.
We know you’ve been loyal followers of Naguisa for years. Is there something about their design or philosophy that you find particularly inspiring?
We really admire Naguisa for its focus on craftsmanship and sustainable design. The ability to combine tradition and modernity in its creations inspires us to follow a similar philosophy with our own projects. The attention to detail and passion for creating high-quality products with a story behind them is another aspect that motivates us. Living on the Mediterranean and sharing such an intimate relationship with the sea, offering products inspired by the sea is a joy to us.
