Menorca, the most peaceful of the Balearic Islands, is to Naguisa a synonym for home and inspiration. Home because it is where our store is situated and inspiration because, for almost a decade now, it has encouraged us to take shape, it has given us a reason for being and, year after year, it has seen the birth of our different models and collections.
The island’s virgin beaches, characteristic constructions and enchanting spots have formed part of the portraits for the Agraría, Cuerda and Origen collections, and today we want to introduce you to some of these wonderful places in the form of a mini guide.
A Little History
Menorca was declared a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve in 1993. Its shoreline, dotted with fortified towns, offer us spaces as unique as La Mola, a fortress built between 1848 and 1875 to protect the entrance to the port of Mahón. Nowadays, the fortress hosts cultural and artistic activities.
Another magical place is Las Canteras de s’Hostal in Lithica, a large labyrinth-like quarry garden that guides the visitor between the traditions of stonemasonry and the monumentality of modern spaces.
A Dip in the Sea
Surrounded by coves of crystalline water and natural pools, there is no shortage of paradisiacal spots on this island where you can go to relax and swim. Our favourites are Es Murtar, near to Mahón, the black sand beaches in the north or the natural pools carved out of the characteristic Menorcan marés rock.
