Summer isn't over for a few weeks, but the calendar is already marking the date for returning to routine. While the feeling of carefreeness fades, we still remember the cobbled streets, the explosion of colours at any market stall and the smell of the sea.

Autumn is here and with it, the chill that heralds the end of the espadrille season. Every year we take longer to get down to work with changing our wardrobe, but with this changing climate that could happen tomorrow, here we are ahead of the game and give you a few tips for storing your Naguisa. Take note! The leather used on espadrilles is usually soft so that they are comfortable to wear and do not rub against your feet when you walk. This same attribute means that when storing them, if we are not careful, the leather can take on a bad shape from one year to the next.

While most of the attention is usually placed on the dress, for a bride, the shoes are also important. On that special day, you want to dance, jump and stand for hours on end without anything stopping you. The end of summer, and with it the sporadic days between seasons, are divided between people who miss having an iced coffee and those who long to wear a jersey again. This duality, also present within the Naguisa team itself, led us to think about developing a timeless shoe, a basic sneaker that could be used during all seasons and anywhere. This is BAMBA, an all-terrain sports shoe.

Looking back, I can remember that since I was little, I have always been very curious about the unusual and the distant. I remember looking through my father's heavy binoculars during summer nights. In the city, I could often see a few stars shining a little brighter on clear nights, but when the holidays came and we fled to the mountains, the dark sky would gift us with nights of many Perseids, several comets and some distant planets.

Naguisa was founded seven years ago with the aim of preserving the ancient textile traditions related to handmade footwear. Our espadrilles symbolise the creation of opportunities for Spanish craftsmanship and the pride of having grown up alongside artisans who await this beautiful and ancient craft.

That afternoon the sun was shining visibly. The task was pressing in every corner of our studio in San Just Desvern. The doorbell rang. Its energetic “hello!” powerfully caught my attention.

Our relationship with Ana began in 2018 when she opened her store La Modernista in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico. This summer we celebrate the brand's tenth anniversary and, as the culmination of a series of events that we have been organizing throughout the season, on July 8 and 9, we decided to open the doors of our new studio-workshop and invite all our clients and friends to blow out candles with the team.

Menorca is our second home. The place we chose a few years ago to open our first store is also a paradise for relaxation and enjoyment. Kilometers of beaches, idyllic sunsets and towns full of magical nooks and crannies inspire our collections and make us always want time to stand still.

One of our favourite discoveries last year was María Laspiur’s Instagram account. Between illustrations, beautiful photos and floral-inspired accessories, we fell in love with her project and didn’t hesitate to write to her to find out more about her and see how we could start a collaboration. From that “love at first sight” came Concha, Pez, Flotador and Ostra. A collection of charismatic accessories perfect for this summer.

Pressing flowers began in the West in the late 16th century, after trade opened up with Japan. There, Oshibana, the art of arranging flattened dried flowers into ornate compositions on paper, had been part of the culture for centuries. Over time, the technique made its way to the West, where people began making scrapbooks using botanicals they collected at home or on vacation.
