Once again this year, we continue introducing you to the wonderful women behind some of the stores where you can find Naguisa. Cristina and Mireia are the founders of Piedra , a women's footwear and accessories store located right in front of the lush Turó Parc (Barcelona).

From their cozy shop, Mireia and Cristina select European brands that focus on local products, are led by women , and promote ethical production methods. Today, they open the doors of Piedra to us and tell us more about their fantastic project.

Who are Cristina and Mireia? How would you describe yourselves?

We are the owners of the Piedra store in Barcelona.

Cristina: I've always been interested in the world of design in general and fashion in particular. I love looking for products, designs, and brands that offer something different and interesting to what's already known.

Mireia: I come from the audiovisual world, and I've always been interested in creative projects with a story and purpose behind them. I think it's important to have spaces for personal brands that care about their team and end customers, that truly care about what they do.

When did you open Piedra? Could you tell us a brief history of the store? What inspired you to take the step of starting your own business?

We opened Piedra at the end of 2017. We had met while working together and agreed that the footwear offering didn't seem appealing to us: we decided to look for brands with fresh, contemporary designs that worked in Europe (mainly Spain, Portugal, and Italy).

A moment you will always remember.

The return to the store after lockdown, the empathy and affection of customers and employees, which can be extended to society at large.

What do you think our philosophy brings to Piedra? And to your clients?

A very good balance between comfort and aesthetics. Sensibility too - your product offers excellent value for money, and local, made-in-Spain manufacturing.

How would you define working with the Naguisa team? For you, what makes us different?

Friendly, flexible, and responsible. It's great working with you!

Of our designs to date, which is your favorite?

Cristina: In winter, the Bai model, the Chelsea boot: flattering, lightweight, you can wear it with everything. And right now, I'm in love with the Bamba.

Mireia: For me, the Abra model is a must-have for winter and mid-season. And in summer, the Thalis sandal perfectly embodies the Mediterranean style—I love it.
