LAST DAYS OF SUMMER

Summer isn't over for a few weeks, but the calendar is already marking the date for returning to routine. While the feeling of carefreeness fades, we still remember the cobbled streets, the explosion of colours at any market stall and the smell of the sea.

Before saying goodbye to our beloved island, we strolled along its rugged paths, visited its coves and dipped our feet for the last time in its crystal-clear waters. We stayed up late, tasting its fruits, making plans and marking a date on the calendar to meet this wonderful land again.

Tomorrow we will set off for our daily routine, dressed in a kind of cheerful dismay. Once back, we will continue to wear summer souvenirs, dressing lightly and waiting for the first purple skies of September to arrive, so that with them we can make room in our wardrobe for the ingredients of a new autumn.

Although this process has been going on for a few years now, lowering the shutters and removing the tape from the sign at Nostra Senyora dels Dolors, 1, always seems like a great little melodrama to us.

Our shop in Ciutadella, Menorca, will remain open until next Saturday, September 12th. If you live there or are on holiday, we invite you to come and say hello to Conxa, our colleague on the island.
