A collection born from the rhythm of the Sea.

The name Naguisa (næˈgiːza) comes from Japanese and describes a precise, fleeting gesture: the
line drawn by sea foam as it retreats along the shore. A delicate trace that
appears and disappears with every wave. This image captures the essence of the
brand.

Naguisa was founded in the summer of 2012 on the shores of the Mediterranean Sea, and
since then, our collections have maintained a close dialogue with the sea, its
rhythm, its light, and the hands that work beside it.

The La Lonja SS26 collection grows from that same observation. Its starting point
is both aesthetic and human. In fishing ports, gestures repeat across
generations: hands tying knots, braiding fibers, repairing nets. Within this
accumulated knowledge, quiet, precise, and deeply rooted, we find inspiration for
our espadrilles and braided leather sandals.

The design process at Naguisa begins with materials. For La Lonja, our design team
explored new textures that move naturally with the foot. We searched for supple
leathers, soft to the touch and flexible enough to adapt to the body in motion.
Materials that do not impose a rigid structure, but instead accompany each
step.

From there begins another kind of time: the time of hands. Many of our women’s
espadrilles and lace-up espadrilles incorporate hand-braided jute or leather
details. Each braid requires patience and precision. The artisans who work with
these materials understand the rhythm of fibers, the exact tension needed for
weaving, and the delicate balance between firmness and flexibility. It is a
quiet knowledge, refined over years of practice.

For Naguisa, preserving this expertise is essential. That is why all our pieces are
produced in artisan workshops in Spain. Committing to Made in Spain means
valuing the techniques and crafts that form part of our material culture. We
believe these gestures, learned slowly, perfected over time, should endure.
Just as we do not want these skills to disappear, we do not want the crafts
that sustain them to fade away.

Each pair of espadrilles or braided leather sandals is also a way of keeping that tradition alive.

Jute intertwines like marine rope; leather folds and knots into light structures
that wrap gently around the foot. In some braided leather sandals and lace-up
espadrilles, small decorative elements, such as beads or mother-of-pearl
pieces, introduce subtle flashes of light. These are not ornamental excesses,
but small gestures that make each shoe feel distinctive.

The sandals and espadrilles in this collection speak more of texture than of form.
Woven surfaces recall fishing nets drying in the sun, boat ropes, or the
irregular surface of seashells. The color palette also draws from this coastal
landscape: deep blues, natural tones, and soft shades that echo the meeting of
sea and earth.

In La Lonja SS26, every pair of espadrilles or sandals is designed to adapt
naturally to the body—to walk without hurry and to move in harmony with the
long light of spring and summer.
