MEDITERRANEAN SHOES

NAGUISA (næˈgiːza) in Japanese: the line drawn by sea foam on the shore. I was born in the summer of 2012, on the shores of the Mediterranean Sea, from the union of product designer Claudia Pérez Polo and architect Pablo Izquierdo López. Together we embarked on a clear and tenacious life project: to create a beautiful shoe that could adapt to each person's foot. Because what good is a beautiful shoe if I can't walk in it? We sailed the immense ocean of manual manufacturing and found our greatest ally in jute. The challenge, then, became even more ambitious: to revive this natural and powerful material, giving it a beautiful shape and a fully functional meaning. The commitment was resounding, and the reception was exciting. Today, Naguisa is present in more than 20 countries, thanks to the women from all over the world who continue to show us that you, too, want to join this opportunity to wear a comfortable and distinguished shoe. At the rhythm of life. To the rhythm of tradition and contemporaneity.

PABLO LEFT LOPEZ. CEO.

Pablo is the fastest key in Naguisa. A head of impeccable architecture and organization. Pablo is fast and a synthesizer, he is the clock whose battery never runs out, the optimal and precise assembly of the components so that the entire process follows its course and we can have our Naguisa ready. Even when we are most loaded, Pablo has that very particular ability to lighten any situation with extreme practicality, elegance and peace. We love his phrase: “Calm down girls” and with him, we have the pleasant feeling that everything will turn out well. It is like touching wood, that wood that he has collected from his childhood dreams to one day set up a small carpentry workshop where he can bring his dreams to life. Pablo is courteous and cheerful; a soul born to get on the tandem of life with his unconditional partner Claudia and his two treasures, Lola and Olivia. A man who exists to build and simplify, to be a leader and a reference, to look for alternative routes when there is a storm. Pablo always has a plan B and even a plan Z. We don't know where he gets them from. Well, yes, from his hat. Because Pablo is also very funny; he is one of those men who shows us that seriousness is not at odds with laughter, and that ingenuity has to do with not stopping to imagine new possibilities to evolve and transform ourselves.

CLAUDIA PÉREZ POLO. CREATIVE DIRECTOR.

Claudia is the hands that build from a heart that opens to the world. She is from another planet, we have not yet discovered which one, but what we do know is that her universe is immense and of an unusual beauty, typical of someone who touches the sea and feels the breeze to find a sensation that inspires her. Especially human, witty and capable, she is incapable, paradoxically, of staying still until she knows that each of the designs that she herself creates together with her team, is backed by functionality. A long-distance athlete, Claudia likes to train and delve into the knowledge of the arts and the craft to extract all its splendor and put it at the service of creation in Naguisa. Claudia conceptualizes and designs, arranges and proposes, organizes and coordinates; her fresh complexion is full of microscopes from which she sees everything. 360 degrees. Her agility in turning the world upside down, to eliminate the barriers between countries and look at a universal level to adapt at a local level is astonishing. Enviously admirable, Claudia is a woman we like to listen to because she always has something interesting to tell us. The other day, she confessed to us that she wants to “stop the battery” of her partner Pablo’s clock, that battery that seems to never end, to escape the rhythm of the city and swim every summer evening, together with their daughters, in her beloved Menorca.

PHILOSOPHY

The story of Naguisa is one filled with honesty in our creations, nobility in our materials, utility in every detail, humanity in our team, closeness in our relationships, but above all, a story of a brand faithful to its roots and transforming, leaving our comfort zone to continue offering you the same comfort we had at the beginning, but translating it, with each collection, into innovative designs and colors. I was born in the summer of 2012, on the shores of the Mediterranean Sea.
