INTERVIEW WITH ALEJANDRA PERELLÓ
Hi Alejandra , Thank you for being part of Naguisa! Let's get started!
N.: Could you briefly define yourself?
AP: Wow, it's always been difficult for me to define myself! But broadly speaking, I would define myself as a very curious and passionate person. I could also say that I'm sensitive and happy and that I really like spending time with my family and friends.
N.: For many, your Instagram account is like daydreaming! Beautiful corners, succulent nature… What inspires you?
Thank you so much! :)
AP: To be honest, almost everything around me is a source of inspiration for me. A walk to the sea, the light and shadows on a wall, being with the people I love, listening to a song in the car, etc.
Being a person who finds it a bit difficult to express myself through words, using photography or video is more comfortable and easier for me. I think it's a nice way to talk to people about a moment in my life or about an emotion.
N.: We know that you are in love with Japanese culture, what sparked this passion?
AP: I have always been very curious and empathetic towards Japan and its culture, but it wasn't until I traveled there for the first time in 2016 that I fell completely in love. I experienced a new feeling that I hadn't had before when traveling to other countries; I felt at home there. To my surprise, a few months after that trip, my friend Lorena Fernández and I were contacted by a Japanese tourism magazine to photograph the Gotō Islands, located near Nagasaki. The experience was unforgettable and I will always remember it fondly. Since then, I only think about returning soon and perhaps staying there for a while.
N.: What role does creativity play in your work?
AP: I currently work for a sustainable clothing and accessories brand that has the main objective of preserving and protecting the oceans and the environment. In my position, it is essential to have knowledge of graphic design, communication and photography, as well as a lot of short and long-term planning and organization. So creativity and daily inspiration are essential. I studied graphic design but over the years I have specialized more in the area of Marketing and Communication. I have also learned a lot about photography and video editing, something that is very important when it comes to creating attractive and effective content.
N.: Could you describe your ideal summer?
AP: I've spent all my summers on the beach, so I can't imagine one without being near the sea! That endless light, skin covered in salt and sun cream, naps on a boat anchored off the Costa Brava, going barefoot, bike rides before dinner, watching the Perseids lying in the garden, freshly cut watermelon, and a long list of other precious moments. Although I'm not a big fan of the heat, I admit that during this season I'm a little happier than during the others.
N.: We hope you enjoy your Raco Brown shoes very much and that they accompany you for many summers and to many beautiful places. Do you know when you will wear them for the first time? :)
AP: I wanted to wait a bit and wear them during one of those first summer dinners, where you get a new skin tone, dress and shoes. But I actually think it's better to enjoy things without waiting for the perfect moment. So I wore them last week during one of those random afternoons with friends in my Sagrada Familia neighborhood. I was really looking forward to these shoes and they couldn't be prettier and more comfortable. I'll wear them again a thousand places with me!
