HOW TO STORE YOUR SANDALS IN THE FALL
Fall’s cooler air will be here soon, which means the end of espadrille season. Every year, we try to delay putting away our summer clothes as long as possible. But with this unpredictable changing climate, fall weather could be here any day now, which is why we’re getting a head start by giving you a few recommendations for storing your Naguisa. Jot these down!
The leather used for making espadrilles is typically very soft so that you can wear them comfortably without irritation. This softness means that if we’re not careful when storing them, they can easily become misshapen.
How can we prevent them from becoming misshapen?
Our recommendation is to store your espadrilles in a box whenever possible, which will protect them from rubbing or banging into other shoes. We also always recommend placing balls of newspaper inside your espadrilles. This will prevent them from becoming flattened or deformed.
Another trick to help them hold their shape is to buckle them. This will ensure your Naguisa are as good as new next spring!
Protect your espadrilles from dampness and humidity
When it comes time to store your Naguisa, there may still be some residual moisture from your feet. To prevent this from damaging the shoes, store them together with a small fabric bag filled with rice. This will neutralize odors and absorb humidity from both the air and the shoes, which will prevent white spots from appearing on them over the winter.

Another little trick for storing your espadrilles is to add a sprig of lavender or a few leaves of dried basil or sage to the box.
