YOUR STORIES: LIDIA PERET

SHE IS WEARING A MANTO ON HER RIGHT FOOT AND A COCORO FROM 2015 ON HER LEFT FOOT.

GABRIELA AND LIDIA AT THE NAGUISA STUDIO-WORKSHOP.
We have the immense honour of launching a series of meetings with fantastic women who have chosen Naguisa as their faithful companion on their journey. And the first on stage is the wonderful Lidia Peret , whom we met at a market back in 2013.
Lidia not only got her first pair of Naguisas at that market, but she also decided to become part of our big family. Since that day, her Naguisas have been her confidants of unforgettable adventures and unique moments.
These talks promise, above all, real stories of women who have created a unique and special relationship with their Naguisa. So join us on this exciting journey with Lidia.

How did you find out about Naguisa and what was your first impression of the brand?
I can't remember now if it was at the Design Room in Resa Raval or at Chic and Basic in El Born... It was through my friend Gaby Pujol from Le Fortune, who told me about Naguisa and told me that I would love their shoes. And so it was, I fell in love with them at first sight.
What does Naguisa mean to you beyond the shoes?
Their way of understanding the design and the artisanal manufacture of shoes with the use of natural materials such as jute, for example. These are shoes with designs that can remind you of shoes from other times, that mix of years and designs with the current era I love. And their great comfort, they adapt to the shape of the foot, with soft and natural materials. They are not modern shoes, they are contemporary shoes, forever.

Do you identify with the values of the Naguisa brand?
Absolutely, I am pro-sustainability and I always try to make all my purchases sustainable, local brands, as artisanal as possible, with original, unique and comfortable designs. Brands like Le Fortune/Gaby Pujol, Royal Caballito, I Feel Nut, Numon, Andrea Viêntec, Cerámicas Les Mans… Among many others…., and I am very conscious of all the consumption I make. For example, I am a member of the first Cooperative Supermarket in Spain, Food Coop, which has been operating for more than a year here in Barcelona.
What makes you continue buying Naguisa shoes after all this time?
What I told you before, the design, the comfort and also they don't go out of style or get damaged if you take good care of them, as with everything.

SOME OF LIDIA'S NAGUISA TREASURES
Do you remember any special moment when your Naguisa accompanied you?
They often accompany me on all my important occasions. Birthdays, concerts, weddings, trips, everyday life… I always have a Naguisa model for every occasion and they save me from many moments. I remember that for my 50th birthday I was on my way to the restaurant on the beach and I was wearing my sandals, and it started to rain cats and dogs! As they were flat and had jute soles on that occasion, I took them off so they wouldn't get wet. When I got in I put them back on.

What is your favourite model? And from the new collection?
Well, you make it very difficult for me! I don't know, since the shoes with wooden soles that you made at the beginning, I have bought many models with jute soles. And from the new collection? I like them all! But since I can't keep them all, I always choose flat shoes with a low wedge and a low heel, which for me are the most comfortable. And above all, they have something that makes them more special. Although sometimes I have been left wanting a model, especially at the beginning when they only made sizes up to 40. Now, for a few years now, they make sizes up to 41. Much better. I have a 40-41. It depends on the model.
Have you shared your love for Naguisa shoes with your friends or family?
Always, from day one. I have friends who have also bought Naguisa.
