The end of summer is often refreshing
When the season of swimming and espadrilles passes, we quickly feel the urge to wear a trench coat and Chelsea boots. However, this change of season brings with it a certain melancholy when the first clouds begin to appear and the days become shorter. It is at that moment, before the leaves take on an orange glow and crunch under our feet clad in the new chunky boots, that we arm ourselves with a blanket or a tablecloth and head out into the street in search of the enjoyment of these days of transition.
The long-awaited period between the hottest days and the arrival of cold weather awakens our most folk side and leads us to combine linens, tartan prints and high leather boots, anything goes these days! We take our favourite cardigan out of the wardrobe “just in case it gets cold”, we prepare a thermos of coffee and, either we go down to the park or we go up to the mountains, to enjoy the last rays of sun. The truth is that we resist the disappearance of summer and all its holiday imagery, but at the same time we think that in autumn we dress more elegantly and that comforts us.
These days of transition, colours transform, blue tones turn orange under the eyes of the setting sun, and our carefully considered palette also takes on other textures and shades. Mahogany, rust and burgundy join the autumnal browns and earthy greens. Laces make a comeback and socks peeking out from between open ankle boots become the kings of the season.
Gathered together on a patterned blanket, we'll let the day turn into night, remember the good things about the not-so-distant holidays and enjoy a sunset, while we begin to mentally organize our wardrobe for the coming season.
