WHO IS GLORIA?

Not everyone lets you get to know them all at once. GLORIA doesn’t either.Maybe that’s why, when it comes to talking about her, it makes more sense to start with the clues. The places she goes, the objects she keeps, the books she leaves unfinished and the ones she always comes back to. The way she dresses, what she carries in her pockets, what she does when no one is watching, or which shoes she reaches for before heading out the door.

Getting to know someone has a lot to do with noticing the little things. Whether she walks fast or gets distracted by shop windows. Whether she keeps movie tickets tucked into her pockets. Whether she likes to arrive early or show up five minutes late. Whether she always returns to the same places or needs to discover somewhere new every week. In the end, we are also made up of all those small decisions we make without even realizing it.

Gloria lives in a place that’s hard to define. That in-between space where some of the curiosity of childhood is still there, but so is the freedom to choose who we want to become. Where we can take things very seriously and, a minute later, find something completely absurd and laugh about it. Where softness doesn’t cancel out strength, femininity doesn’t rule out masculinity, and the everyday can still feel extraordinary.

There’s something of Gloria Fuertes in all of this. She is one of the references and the starting points from which we began imagining this collection. Her poems inspired us, but also the way she moved so naturally between worlds that, on the surface, seemed opposite.

She wrote for children and adults, spoke about both tiny things and enormous ones, found humor where others saw only solemnity, and knew how to turn everyday life into poetry. GLORIA AW26–27 is our small tribute to that free, curious, tender, and often unexpected way of seeing the world.

The collection moves between those same contrasts. These are shoes made for real life: for walking, working, making spontaneous plans, dancing, and finding your way home. But there is always some small gesture that shifts the expected slightly off course. Textured leather, contrast stitching, embroidery, a mid heel, a track sole, or a bow.

At NAGUISA, we like to think that style has more to do with those small gestures we make our own than with following rules set by someone else.

We design with comfort in mind because we know that, in the end, the shoes we wear most are the ones we choose again and again until they almost become part of us. The ones that make us feel good, feel like ourselves, and simply feel at home in our own skin.

Because who says we can’t pair something delicate with something bold, wear a special piece on an ordinary Tuesday, or put on beautiful shoes just to buy bread? It’s those small, almost unconscious choices that end up saying far more about us than we might think.

Over the coming months, we’ll keep gathering new clues about GLORIA. We’ll discover what interests her, how she dresses, which objects stay close to her, where she finds inspiration, and what small pleasures shape her everyday life.

We’ll also slowly reveal new styles from the collection, along with stories and little moments that will help us understand a bit more about who GLORIA AW26–27 really is. Some answers will be obvious. Others will probably lead us to even more questions.
In case you hadn’t noticed yet, this magazine isn’t here to explain who Gloria is, at least, not all at once.

We want you to get to know her the way you get to know someone in real life: little by little.

So keep an eye out. This is only the beginning.
